The children learned all about the Transfiguration at our half day summer camp. They discusssed the story of the Transfiguration and the icon with Fr. George then continued the study through role playing and art. They also participated in a small service with Fr. George to bless the grapes or "first fruits", a tradition in Greece and areas where the Transfiguration (August 6th) also coincides with the first harvest. We all enjoyed a wonderful day of learning and fellowship - thanks to all who helped!
